" My Philosophy as an Educator. "
" A man without a philosophy is like a cripple struggling to walk " (RALPH WALDO EMERSON).
There are many philosophies contributed by many and known personalities, but among those, the above mentioned is my favorite and created an impact in my heart. Why?.... for the simple reason that I believe with what it implies, which is, every man must have a philosophy that he can hold onto.
That is why, as a future educator, it is my philosophy that.... " A teacher, should posses the skill, values, and knowledge in relation to teaching profession and an absence of just one of those will him/her a non effective teacher.
Why did I say so?.....
A person may have all the knowledge in this world and might posses all the values needed, yet, It is not enough for him/her to be consider as an effective teacher if he lacks the skill. Because, how can you transfer your knowledge to your learners, if, you don't know the appropriate approach that you can use to make your students understand the subject content? Same with the situation if it is the values or the knowledge that is lacking, it cant still make you an effective teacher.
It can be compared to the internal organs of the human beings, if one organ malfunctioned, you cant be called healthy, but if all organs are on its perfect conditions and thus, functions well, then your healthy.
Knowledge is the information you pass onto your learners, skills on the other hand, is your tool so you can deliver your discussions well and values is your potion that can make the students be motivated to participate. These three things must come altogether if we aim to become an effective teacher and not just merely teachers.
