Thisbe and Pyramus
The scene: Finally a day came when they could endure no longer. they decide that, that very night they would try to slip away and steal out through the city into the open country where atlas they could be together in freedom. They agreed to meet at a well known place, The tomb of Ninus.
The script of the scene:
Pyramus: My dearest thisbe the love of my life,
My desire to witness your beauty drives me crazy.
I curse this wall standing between us
for it forbids me to see your smile that is brighter than sunshine.
Thisbe: Pyramus, my love.
I am with you,
what you feel is what I feel, and thus,
what you think is what I think.
we're united by love.
this evil wall that divides us cant stop our love
that is pure and eternal.
Pyramus: The world is against us,
But the Gods of Olympus are with us.
Let's end this sorrow
and change this bitter faith,
let's fly like free birds
and escape this cage.
Thisbe: The sound of escape
will put our life at risk,
but danger would not matter
for someone like us,
drowned in the lake of pure love.
Take me with you,
together we will embrace the light of freedom.
Pyramus: When the night crawls
we'll see eachother
in the tomb of ninus.
together hand in hand,
we will witness the first sunrise of freedom.
Thisbe: Anticipate my comming,
a life without you only promises sorrow
